Snow up to their knees!
We've had around 2 weeks of snow and it's about time for it to start melting. We woke up this morning to snow flakes, but by afternoon it had turned to rain so it's starting to melt in the day but since it turns so cold at night there are still problems with fresh ice on the roads every morning. Hopefully it won't take to much longer for it all to melt but I'm not going to hold my breath. We just aren't used to so much snow, we usually only get a dusting if any at all. But since it neither an El Nino 'nor a La Nina year we have what the weather men call a neutral year which is when we usually get dumped on. Happened in '96, 90' and if I remember that far back in '88 as well.
The goats are going to be so happy when the snow goes, they haven't bee getting out of their shed at all except to get a drink of water, I take them on walks so they do get exercise but not much now that it's so cold & wet on their feet! These are the 4 spring babies we kept this year to breed next fall. The mamas and the buck are in the pasture behind them.
