Did you ever overdye that rug you were twining a few years ago? Would love to see a photo of the finished rug. As I said i my last comment I'm working on one but I'm not fond of the colors, maybe when it's finished it will look different. I'm on the North East Atlantic side of the country in Topsfield, Massachusetts. I'd love to get some fiber goats and sheep someday. Do you think 60 is too old to learn goat husbandry? We have chickens and used to have Pygmy goats when the girls were young. Now I have grandchildren! Over dying is just choosing a color and putting your fiber (in this case a rug) in the dye bath and overdying the existing colors with the new color. Here is an article on over dying, it will help you figure out how it's done:
http://www.wcushing.com/over_dyeing.html

Good Luck!!!Vickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09748542621560297385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7802585260569657014.post-13210613976542676012013-12-09T19:58:33.814-08:002013-12-09T19:58:33.814-08:00Hi! I'm working on a woven rug and the colors aren't pleasing to me, I'd love to know how to overdye, what do you use and how you do it! Thanks for any information you can give me! This would allow the pedals to go up and down smoothly and why you need to 'lock' the pedals into the holding notches at the other end.Vickyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09748542621560297385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7802585260569657014.post-3741878405924076102012-04-22T10:43:12.562-07:002012-04-22T10:43:12.562-07:00Vicki,

My Mom had a quilting frame that had equally spaced holes down each side. She had old valve stems from a model T Ford to pin the frame. Once she quilted as far as she could, she would roll the quilt up so she could reach. The Common Taterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09770544603674307946noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7802585260569657014.post-85054306062108992892011-01-16T09:08:01.193-08:002011-01-16T09:08:01.193-08:00This is such a sweet photo. I would love to learn to weave (I have bought instructions on how to make a Bohemian rag rug but haven't had a chance to sit down with it). I'm not sure I understand how your twinning works -- do you slide the finished rug off of the white strips or do the white strips become part of the rug?
